Gary Altenburg – Owner

Gary Altenburg, the owner of MWF, is a joiner by trade, qualified with top honours from Southland Polytechnic. He previously owned a small joinery workshop in Central Otago for four years, and then worked in Australia for a large shop-fitting company.

From his experience, he saw the opportunity to provide a better service to clients than the industry norm. With this vision to make a difference, Gary moved in as the manager of Mark White Furniture Limited and subsequently purchased the business in 2001, changing the name to MWF Manufacturing Limited.  From here he has made a long term commitment to the joinery/ shop fitting/ kitchen industry in Christchurch and New Zealand.

Gary is accompanied by a very experienced and passionate team of 16 staff.

Using the latest technology with ongoing research and development

We are running some of the latest Nesting-based CNC technology and recently invested in more plant and running technology.  We use some of the latest manufacturing applications such as Microvellum Manufacturing Software and Empower which is a real-time labour tracking system.  As an addition to Empower we are now running the Scheduling Software, which gives us the capability of focussing on future works and our capacity.  We are actively involved in research and development within the industry.
