To ensure high levels of accuracy and quick turn around, MWF Manufacturing have invested in the latest technology from the largest woodworking machine producer in the world – SCM.
Purchased through Gabbett Machinery in Christchurch, our SCM Record 110ALXLN CNC Router rapidly performs all our cutting and drilling operations, with minimal waste. The machined product is then taken to our SCM K1000 Edgebander to apply the decorative edge to the board, which is then returned to the edgebander operator by means of the SCM Mahros Spinner conveyor system.
Such high levels of automation mean less chance of human error, quick product manufacture, and a professional result every time.
ASPAN
To ensure best efficiencies with our SCM CNC router, we use specialised ASPAN software.
ASPAN is a CAD/CAM system designed to aid the machining of wooden workpieces on CNC machines. The program uses a CAD procedure to create a graphical representation of the workpiece, which contains all the machining operations our CNC router must perform. The CAM procedure is then used to assign the tools and other mechanical attributes necessary for the machining operations.
ASPAN software aids us to maximise our output and minimise our waste, thereby providing best value for money for our clients.
MICROVELLUM
Microvellum is an Autocad based manufacturing and design software. It enables us to clearly view the particular products we are building. The Microvellum tool box has attached a specially designed library of units, we can use a standard one from that or adapt it to meet a clients particular requirements.
On completion of a job it will generate the information required for our CNC machine as well as a list of reports that we need to process a job smoothly and efficiently.
EMPOWER MANUFACTURING SOFTWARE
Empower - Time Tracking Staff and Jobs “Live” (using PCs on the factory floor where all staff log start and finished on all jobs)
The main benefit to MWF is that using ‘Empower Time Tracking Software’ we achieve maximum daily and weekly output from all staff and the factory. Empower - Job Management System (for Quoting, Materials Ordering, Materials Management, Contact Database, Project Information and Schedules, Job Cost)
The main benefit to MWF of this system, which we are implementing currently, is that we have one central system that all information relating to the project is recorded, tracked and reported. This information starts at quoting and goes all the way through to project completion and invoicing - and is accessed and used by all MWF management and administration. This system makes our administration and management processes highly efficient - and helps ensure all projects “run smoothly” and are completed to scheduled dates. Empower - Job Scheduling Software
The main benefit to MWF of this system is that the job scheduling tool easily and accurately factors in all MWF's production and onsite variables and schedules start and finish times for each project and each of their respective processes. This gives MWF a clear and accurate production plan to “head towards”, follow and commit to. We can see clearly where times begin to slip and take preventative action.
